DESCRIPTION:Splitting of electrons and violation of the Luttinger sum rule\
 nEoin Quinn (University of Amsterdam\, The Netherlands)\nWe present a fram
 ework for organising the correlations of interacting electrons\, which all
 ows us to describe a regime of strongly correlated behaviour. We highlight
  two ways to characterise the electronic degree of freedom\, either by the
  canonical fermion algebra or by the graded Lie algebra su(2|2). The first
  underlies the Fermi liquid description of correlated matter\, and we iden
 tify a novel regime governed by the latter. We derive a systematic expansi
 on of the electronic correlations\, and compute the electronic spectral fu
 nction at the leading order. This reveals a splitting in two of the electr
 onic band\, a violation of the Luttinger sum rule\, and a Mott metal-insul
