SUMMARY:Séminaire du LPTMS: Jean-Louis Barrat - LPTMS\, salle 201\, 2ème
 étage\, Bât 100\, Campus d'Orsay - 31 Mai 16 11:00
DESCRIPTION:Elastoplastic models for amorphous plasticity\nJean-Louis Barra
t (Université Joseph Fourier\, Grenoble)\n\n\n\nI will present our curren
t understanding\, based on microscopic simulations and experiments\, of th
e elementary mechanisms that govern the deformation and flow of amorphous
materials. I will show how these mechanisms can be incorporated into  sim
ple lattice models governed by long range elastic interactions\, discuss t
he mean field analysis of these models as well as fluctuation related issu
es such as the  statistics of avalanche like events.\n\n\n\nReferences:\n
