SUMMARY:Séminaire du LPTMS: Nicola Bartolo &amp\; Mathieu Hemery - LPTMS\,
  salle 201\, 2ème étage\, Bât 100\, Campus d'Orsay - 13 Fév 18 11:00
DESCRIPTION:Exact results for non-equilibrium phase transitions\nNicola Bar
tolo (Laboratoire Matériaux et Phénomènes Quantiques\, Université Pari
 s Diderot et CNRS)\nIn out-of-equilibrium systems\, the competition betwee
n Hamiltonian evolution and dissipation can result in dissipative phase tr
ansitions. We investigate this kind of phenomena in the steady state of a
general class of driven-dissipative systems\, consisting of a nonlinear Ke
rr resonator in the presence of both coherent (one-photon) and parametric
(two-photon) driving and dissipation.\nWe analytically derive the exact st
eady-state solution via the formalism of the complex P-representation. The
exact solution applies to any photon density regime\, allowing to investi
gate the thermodynamic limit of large photon densities. In this regime\, w
e point out and characterise the emergence of dissipative phase transition
s of both first and second order.\n\n\n\nφ-evo: from function to network\
 nMathieu Hemery (McGill University\, Montréal\, Canada)\nMolecular networ
ks are at the core of most cellular decisions\, but there architecture is
often intricate and difficult to grasp. Starting from the putative functio
n of a network and using an evolutionnary algorithm (EA) to explore the po
ssible architectures seems however to gives good predictions. After a brie
f introduction to EA and regulatory network\, I will present my own work w
ith \\phievo: the lac-operon that show its validity and a logarithmic netw
 ork that highlight its possibilities.
