 ion about joining the meeting.\n\n\nWe study the preponderance of particul
 ar types of Boolean functions in gene regulatory networks. We first compil
 e a reference dataset of 2687 functions extracted from published models. T
 his dataset shows strong enrichments in "read-once" functions and in neste
 d canalyzing functions. These enrichments can be justified by selection fo
 r minimum complexity\, either Boolean complexity based on string lengths i
 n formal logic which is yet unexplored in the biological context\, or aver
 age sensitivity which corresponds to maximizing robustness to noise.\n
