DESCRIPTION:Measurement-altered quantum criticality\nSara Murciano (Caltech
  University)\n&nbsp\;\n\nSeminar in the context of the OPENQMBP 2024 works
 hop at the Institut Pascal.\n\nQuantum critical systems constitute appeali
 ng platforms for the exploration of novel measurement-induced phenomena du
 e to their innate sensitivity to perturbations. I will discuss the impact 
 of measurement on Ising chains using an explicit protocol\, whereby uncorr
 elated ancillae are entangled with the critical chain and then projectivel
 y measured. I can identify different protocols wherein measurements (i)  
 weakly modify the universal long-range entanglement and (ii) they complete
 ly obliterate it. I will also highlight a path to experimental realization
  in analog quantum simulators based on Rydberg atom arrays. Finally\, I wi
 ll describe how these ideas can establish a long-term quantum science appl
 ication of ‘measurement-altered quantum criticality’.
