DESCRIPTION:Anisotropic Field Theory of Wave Transmission Statistics in Dis
 ordered Media\n&nbsp\;\nDavid Gaspard (Institut Langevin\, ESPCI Paris)\n&
nbsp\;\n\nRecent advances in wavefront shaping have revolutionized experim
ental studies in mesoscopic physics\, providing new levels of control over
coherent wave transport in scattering media\, particularly in optical sys
tems. These experimental breakthroughs are founded on the substantial theo
retical developments in quantum transport from the 1980s and 1990s\, espec
ially those focused on disordered wires. A cornerstone of this body of wor
k is the Dorokhov-Mello-Pereira-Kumar (DMPK) theory\, which characterizes
the statistical properties of the transmission matrix of disordered media.
However\, while powerful\, the DMPK theory cannot account for various exp
erimentally relevant conditions\, including quasiballistic transport\, abs
orption\, or partial control over the transmission matrix. Our work presen
ts the first ab initio theory for the statistical properties of the transm
ission matrix that successfully addresses all of these conditions within a
unified framework. This achievement fills a critical gap\, providing expe
rimentally useful predictions where current models fall short. A central r
esult of this work is the derivation of a new nonlinear transport equation
that captures the statistical properties of wavefront shaping performance
