 sity of Trieste\nIn this talk we will pedagogically review the Hilbert spa
 ce approach to Classical Mechanics pioneered by Koopman and von Neumann. N
 ext we will build its associated Classical Path Integral and study geometr
 ically the many extra variables which make their appearance beside the pha
 se-space ones. Quantization turns then out to be nothing else than a prope
 r dimensional reduction and to be at the same time the functional counterp
 art of Geometric Quantization.
