SUMMARY:Séminaire du LPTMS : Hosho Katsura (Tokyo University) - Salle des
 séminaires du FAST et du LPTMS\, bâtiment Pascal n°530 - 12 Mar 24 11:0

DESCRIPTION:Frustration-free systems and beyond\nHosho Katsura (Tokyo Unive
rsity)\nFrustration-free systems refer to a class of exactly solvable quan
tum many-body systems for which the ground state is obtained as a simultan
eous ground state of all local Hamiltonians. They have a variety of applic
ations in condensed matter physics and quantum information\, with notable
examples including the Affleck-Kennedy-Lieb-Tasaki model and Kitaev's tori
c code. A slightly more general concept called the local divergence condit
ion\, often discussed in the context of classical stochastic processes\, h
as recently found use in constructing special eigenstates of non-integrabl
e models called quantum many-body scar (QMBS) states. In this talk\, I wil
l provide an overview of these technical concepts and then present our rec
ent results. In particular\, I will argue that Witten's conjugation\, orig
inally introduced in supersymmetric quantum mechanics\, is useful for cons
tructing a family of frustration-free systems based on simple models such
as the classical Ising model. If time permits\, I will also discuss how to
  construct QMBS states systematically.\n\n
