Subject: [soft-matter] postdoc position in Montpellier, France
Date: Thu, 18 Mar 2021 10:43:20 +0100
From: Ludovic Berthier
To: soft-matter@lists.leeds.ac.uk
Dear Colleagues,
Applications are invited to fill a postdoctoral fellowship, starting in
2021. The fellowship is for one or two years and is funded by the Simons
Collaboration « Cracking The Glass Problem”. The postdoc will be
supervised by Ludovic Berthier (Montpellier, France and Cambridge, UK).
The goal of the postdoc project is to elaborate on a recent breakthrough
in simulations of supercooled liquids and glasses (the swap Monte Carlo
algorithm) to elucidate the dynamical properties of these systems at
unprecedentedly low-temperatures that are out of reach of conventional
numerical approaches.
I am seeking candidates with good knowledge of statistical mechanics and
computer simulations of liquids.
I would be grateful if you would bring this announcement to the
attention of strong, creative individuals with a background in
statistical physics and encourage them to apply. Candidates must send a
CV, a motivation letter and have two recommendation letters sent to
ludovic.berthier@umontpellier.fr
The deadline for applications is April 15, 2021.
Sincerely,
Ludovic Berthier
