Dear colleagues,
Please consider forwarding the following announcement for a postdoc
position in my group to potential candidates.
Thank you and best regards,
Matthias Merkel
*Postdoctoral fellow position in theoretical soft matter physics at the
Centre de Physique Théorique (CPT) in Marseille, France*
I am inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in my
group at the Centre de Physique Théorique (CPT) in Marseille
(http://centuri-livingsystems.org/m-merkel/). My group focuses on
theoretical and computational research in bio- and soft matter physics.
I am looking for a strong and motivated scientist to work on the
relation between structure and rheology in disordered materials, with a
focus on semi-flexible fiber networks. Combining both analytical and
computational approaches, the successful candidate will develop
predictions for the large-scale mechanical properties of disordered
fiber networks based on their microscopic structure.
The position is fully funded by the Alan Turing Center for Living
Systems (CENTURI, http://centuri-livingsystems.org/), a new
interdisciplinary research hub in Marseille that brings together
physicists, biologists, engineers, and mathematicians. To apply for the
position, please send cv and email addresses of two references to
matthias.merkel@cpt.univ-mrs.fr. Applications will be considered
continuously until the position is filled. Please do not hesitate to
contact me for any informal inquiry regarding this offer.
