We are pleased to announce an opening for a 12-month postdoctoral position to model plant growth and its fluctuations at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Modèles Statistiques (LPTMS), Université Paris-Saclay, starting in fall 2025.
The project, funded by CNRS, aims to develop theoretical and numerical models of plant cell wall growth, focusing on the coupling between mechanical stress, plant pressure, and cell wall swelling. The recruited postdoc will work on multiscale modeling exploring how stochastic biochemical and mechanical processes contribute to tissue expansion and shape regulation.
We are looking for candidates with a background in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or biophysics. Experience with soft matter, PDEs, or stochastic modeling will be appreciated.
